Welcome to Marco School
Marco, is a small rural school set halfway along State Highway 43 - the Forgotten World Highway.
We offer a family atmosphere with 18 delightful ākonga ranging across years 0-8. Our ākonga love to get involved in community and sporting events. For sport and some other cultural experiences, we combine with other schools along the Forgotten World Highway to form the Taranaki Eastern Districts Cluster.
We are a well resourced school, with students having individual devices for their learning programmes as well as up to date curriculum programmes being taught through the school. We currently teach ākonga in our two learning spaces - our Juniors (Year 0-3) in Piwakawaka class, with our Senior students (Years 4-8 ) being able to access our second classroom , Ruru, which is a quiet learning space and library. Our dedicated art room is our creative space, always offering lots of beautiful pieces of art for display. Our salt-water swimming pool is heated by solar which usually means we can swim from Labour weekend to Easter.
Marco School has a partnership with the Enviroschools team that encourages sustainability and outdoor education. We have some amazing natural wonders already such as a very productive orchard and vege garden where we grow produce to share with the wider community - as well as our very own pig!
We employ a wonderful team of staff - made up of passionate, experienced and kind kaiako and community members, who work extremely hard everyday to support our learners to be the best they can be.
I look forward to working with all the new and current ākonga in 2025.
Ngā mihi,
