Marco School is working towards being a PC4L school:

PC4L looks at behaviour and learning from a whole-of-school as well as an individual child perspective. PC4L helps Marco School build a culture where positive behaviour and learning is a way of life. It’s not about changing the students; it’s about working together and making sure the environment, systems and practices we have in place to support tamariki to make positive behaviour choices.  

For our staff and students PC4L is about:

• Preventative Approach: We focus on changing learning environments and have positive systems to support behaviour rather than just managing students.

• School-Wide Values: We have 5 defined core values and explicitly teach them to students. We call this our Values Matrix.

• Recognition System: We have fun, celebrate, share our connection to our values and successes daily.      For our students this could be:                                                                                                                                                                      *Shout Out certificate😁            *Values Cup trophy  and Values Certificate🏆                                                                                *House Points that earn a house reward such as morning tea with the Teachers 🧁                                            *Class Dojo (Marco Monsters) so the WHOLE class can have SW4G time (Stop Work 4 Game time)⛹️

• Restorative Practice: We model and teach how to have conversations to resolve conflict.

• Consistency:  We ensure all staff apply the same behavioural expectations across the school. We talk about these as Minors and Majors.
